How long does the driving course take?

The mandatory Québec Road Safety Education Program extends over a minimum of 13 months and consists of 4 learning phases combining classroom instruction with practical driving lessons

How many theory and driving lessons are included?

The program includes:
12 theory lessons (24 hours)
15 in-car driving lessons (55 minutes each)
for a total of 39 hours of mandatory instruction.

What are the four phases of the program?

The Road Safety Education Program is divided into:

When can I drive with my parents?

You may begin practising with a parent or qualified accompanying driver after obtaining your learner's licence. The accompanying driver must:
hold a valid Class 5 licence;
have at least 2 years of driving experience;
remain seated in the front passenger seat at all times

How many hours should I practise outside my driving lessons?
